For investment through entrepreneurship, a minimum initial capital of € 250,000 is required. With this investment capital, you are entitled to apply for a 2 or 3 year residence permit. Usually you may receive a permanent residence permit after three years. The advantage of this method is that there is no requirement to be present in Germany in order to extend your residence through entrepreneurship.

Investment by buying stocks and bonds

Investing in stocks and buying bonds does not allow you to obtain a residence permit. You must seek other methods if you wish to obtain German residency and citizenship (see above). German bonds are converted into euros and people everywhere can buy them easily. You can buy quarterly a 30-year bond. You may do so by selecting the bonds, submitting a request, writing a check to the broker, make a purchase and receive the transaction receipt. It should be noted that profitability and return of the long-term bonds are higher for you.
